Ostras!

The best oyster bars in Barcelona

By Silvia Micolau 25.11.17

It is said that the best months to eat oysters are those that carry an "r", that is, that the season goes from September to April. Here some oyster-bars and restaurants in Barcelona where to take these sea bites.

Huîtres Amélie. The Amélie are oysters Fine de Claire and Spéciale Fine de Claire, the only ones in the world with Protected Designation of Origin (Marennes-Oléron), tuned in the claires, clear or exclusive clay ponds of this French region. In their market stall at La Boqueria market (La Rambla, 91) they prepare them to eat there and to take away. And in its Pop-up bar at El Corte Inglés in Plaça Catalunya, they served naturally and also steamed with premium liquors, with gelée de champagne and smoked in a glass bell at the Amélie Sensations tasting.

Amélie is also the oysters of Palosanto restaurant and Café San Telmo. In this last one and afterwork they have pairings of 1, 2, 4 or 8 oysters with glasses or bottle of cava or champagne.

They are served naturally, in pickled sauce, with ponzu sauce and trout roe, and with cucumber and green apple. The proposal includes wine glass or cava formulas plus 3 or 6 oysters, as well as the possibility of ordering them at home.
