New experience: Non-stop kitchen and evenings with DJs and signature cocktails

Enjoying the best Japanese gastronomy at any time —from noon to night— is now possible at the emblematic El Japonés (linkear) by Grupo Tragaluz, on the weekends. Conceived as a Japanese tavern, in Passatge de la Concepció between Rambla de Catalunya and Passeig de Gràcia, El Japonés has been a benchmark in the city for more than 25 years, constantly evolving without ever losing its essence.

Its pioneering concept in Barcelona —informal atmosphere, authentic Japanese cuisine, excellent value for money— has made it a meeting point for locals and visitors alike over the years. The space is dominated by an origami mural installation by Studio Sawada Design, which, together with the minimalist wooden furniture and warm lighting, recreates a modern yet timeless Japanese-inspired ambience.

    The open-view sushi bar allows you to watch the sushimen in action, preparing specialities such as the Crispy tuna nigiri and the Grilled Ebi nigiri. Among the dishes (ideal for sharing) are the Caramelised black cod with miso, the Sea bass ceviche with kimchi tiger's milk and the Okonomiyaki, a kind of Japanese version of pizza with bacon, katsuobushi and aonori. And among the sweets, their selection of green tea truffles with white chocolate or matcha cheesecake.

    From now on, on Thursday and Friday nights from 8pm, the gastronomic experience is complemented by a DJ session and signature cocktails, such as the Lychee Sour or the Tokyo Mule, until closing time.

    The music ranges from deep house and jazzy electronica with influences from Detroit to house sound of Chicago and hypnotic journeys, with sets by resident DJs and occasionally Japanese DJs.
