Tundra

Adrià Machado, AW16-17

30.06.16

A collection inspired by the herbaceous like vegetation that grows in cold climates, called Tundra. Using the technique of Needle Punch, featuring plants and “freeze dried” lichens, the Catalan designer Adriá Machado has created garments which to some extent or other are “bonded” to this vegetation, expressing a subtle and poetic approach, for a strong while equally delicate woman.

Adrià Machado is a fashion designer from Manresa, currently based in Barcelona. In December of 2014 he launched his first collection "Made of stone". A few months later he decided to continue creating fashion under his own label focusing on sportswear and prêt-a-porter collections. All the collections are inspired by nature but in a new and different ways, always playing with fabrics and minimalist patterns to make women feel stronger and more unique. In 2015 he launched his first jewellery collection made entirely with 3D pieces of recycled materials mixed with PLA.
