Mite Mite
Designer bags, conceived in Barcelona
After graduating in interior design at the Elisava University School in Barcelona and as an industrial designer from the Central Saint Martins in London, Anna Martí Represa spent some years working as an interior architect and publicist before in 2008 founding this exceptionally unique label, the first creation from which was an anti-theft bag that became famous because of its appearance in a newspaper.
Its debut collection, Abyssal, is made up of four other bags, which, due to their forms, somewhat resemble fish that inhabit deep ocean trenches. Mite Mite (meaning look look in Japanese) manufactures its products in Ubrique, a town located in the Cadiz region with a long tradition in the production of quality leather goods. Their products, with names of mythological beings such as the Nereida Halia, the goddesses of the sea Leucótea and Rodo, and the daughter of the latter, the radiant Electriona, are made in patchworks of calfskin in different shades with hand-cut and metallic details. Some of the flaps are removed and manufactured to look like a necklace.
