Venice
This season the Med Winds menswear and womenswear collections are inspired by the history and the cultural legacy of Venice. For the campaign, photographer Erik Von Frankenberg immortalized models Elensio M and Thom Masselink against its historical backdrop, using an old analogue camera.
The film Death in Venice directed by Luchino Visconti inspired the men's collection of maritime pieces, shirts with gondolier style ties and tailored suits with small lapels. As well as the shirts and jackets that evoke the costume of the ancient Venetian fishermen.
The women’s collection features voluminous coats and sharp silhouette trousers, reminiscent of the Renaissance style, with lush floral prints and sober masculine tailoring. Pleated dresses adorned with velvet ribbons suggest the passage of the artist Mariano Fortuny through the renowned Italian city.
