Barna Brew Born

Beer, wines & tapas

04.06.24

Fans of craft beer served by professional connoisseurs have a new destination in the Born neighbourhood. Tucked into its labyrinthine streets and charming squares Barna Brew serves Belgian style craft beers including toasted, IPA and Pilsner varieties. Brewed in the nearby Sant Antoni neighbourhood where the original Barna Brew flagship brewery opened in 2017. But the beer is not the only reason to visit here are also 75 references in natural wines, 15 of which can be ordered by the glass. And to accompany the beer and wine there’s a selection of tapas which is another reason to investigate Barna Brew.

The project is the brainchild of brewing expert Alex Lazarowicz, winemaker Chris Grenness and the head waiter Aldo Romeu, providing clients with their knowledge of both wines and beers as well as a varied gastronomic menu of sandwiches and tapas. The beer brewing process includes unusual gastronomic ingredients such as orange blossom honey, tonka bean, Sichuan pepper and bay leaf. Their beers have been recognised by international awards, winning two prestigious Gold Medals at the Brussels Beer Challenge, the birthplace of this style of beer manufacture. The manifesto of combining wines and beers is obvious on arrival, with a selection of 10 beers taps and coolers with a display of the natural wines in the entrance.

The menu offers everything from tasty croquettes to a classic Russian salad (with tuna belly), including several salad options that vary in ingredients depending on their season. And another popular choice for the bar à vins is the cheese and charcuterie boards of gourmet local cheeses and Iberian sausages, perfect for lovers of classic and French-style wines.
