Between April 23rd and 26th, to celebrate the launch of the new fragrance Afternoon Delight, from the Replica collection, Maison Margiela Fragrances will offer an immersive experience that will transport visitors to an elegant Parisian afternoon, in Barcelona, in a pop-up café with the characteristic Maison Margiela aesthetic called Afternoon Delight Café.

Open to the general public, the Afternoon Delight Café will serve cupcakes and specialty coffee for everyone, in a carefully curated space. In addition, the entire fragrance collection will be available and olfactory workshops and interactive exhibitions will be organised to discover the concept of the Afternoon Delight fragrance and the Margiela universe in depth.

    In 1994, Maison Margiela created Replica, a collection of clothing and accessories conceived from garments collected from all over the world and chosen for the universality and timelessness of their style. Each garment is reproduced identically and marked with a plain white label indicating its provenance, period and style description.     Afternoon Delight is a tribute to those fleeting moments of joy and self-indulgence; it captures the essence of Paris in the evening and the fond memories of savouring a warm madeleine in a Parisian café.

    The nose creator, Carlos Benaïm, describes it as ‘the essence of delight, with a tender memory, a Proust madeleine’. Afternoon Delight is a unique homage to the literary world of the celebrated writer Marcel Proust, specifically to his work A la Recherche du Temps Perdu. A universal narrative in which the delicate taste and smell of a madeleine unlocls a cascade of vibrant memories for the author.
