Xmas happens

By Silvia Micolau 01.12.25

Today marks the start of the countdown to Christmas, so this post will be updated with the latest gastro offerings designed to help you enjoy the festive days and nights ahead. We will also be sharing gift ideas and unmissable plans on Instagram every day.

Contraban@Wittmore Hotel and A Restaurant@Hotel Neri offer the following Christmas Eve menus, created by chef Alain Guiard, in unique and welcoming settings:

For informal dinners, for example after beating the Tió, Deleito recommends its burgers accompanied by cava. Alberto Gras, finalist of Masterchef 8, has created, among others, the complete Burgerfoie (made with aged beef, cheddar cheese, foie sauce, caramelized onions, and shoestring potatoes inside a brioche bun). And Freixenet offers a wide range of Minis, including alcohol-free and low calorie options.

  •

The fast-pasta brand Relleno, meanwhile, has a Winter Special dish this season: Tortellini stuffed alla modenese with raw prosciutto, Parmigiano Reggiano, mortadella, and nutmeg, with a 24-month Parmigiano Reggiano fonduta. To eat it, use their reinterpretation of Achille Castiglioni's Dry spoon for Alessi, both icons of Italian design, in a limited edition of one hundred and on sale on their website.

The Blanc restaurant at the Mandarin Oriental hotel tempts us with its festive afternoon tea, created by pastry chef Josep Esturi, for a snack and a break during an afternoon of shopping. It consists of savoury (Brioche with sobrasada cream and Urgell cheese, Turkey sandwich with mustard sauce, cheese and pickled onion, Smoked salmon sandwich with pickled cucumber and cream cheese, Sablé filled with duxelle and goat’s cheese, scones with foie mousse and mango chutney) and sweet bites (Ginger choux, Pineapple tatin, Exotic snowflake, 70% cocoa chocolate and raspberry Christmas sphere, Blueberry and yoghurt macaron, scones with clotted cream, strawberry jam and pear-rosemary jam), coffee or tea, and a welcome glass of Mestres Coquet cava. Available for €45 from 4PM to 7PM until January 6, although this British tradition will continue throughout the rest of the year with other themes.

And at Banker's Bar, they serve Eggnog cocktail, made with egg yolks and whites, milk, cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg, and brandy.

For a family outing, everyone wearing an ugly Xmas sweater, El Palace has transformed the central pergola of its Rooftop Garden into a charming gingerbread house for the second time. Decorated with fairy lights, lollipops, cookies, and Christmas motifs, it is open Monday through Sunday, for lunch and dinner. The idea is to share a raclette with homemade pickles, potatoes, and cold cuts, followed by a gourmet salad of Roasted pear, gorgonzola and caramelized walnuts, and then a Black Forest Christmas tree.

At Kasa Hanaka, they have created a comforting Catalan-Japanese escudella with carn d'olla, broth enriched with kombu dashi, udon noodles, chickpeas and edamame. Umami galore!

The Cabaret, Veraz and The Roof spaces at The Barcelona Edition hotel will be transformed into venues for celebration and indulgence for guests and locals alike. Cabaret will host a dinner show inspired by the spirit of the Moulin Rouge in 1900, featuring singer Aina de Silva alongside a cast of musicians and dancers. The menu includes Osetra caviar with blinis and sour cream, Sustainable turbot with celeriac purée, and Panettone French toast with vanilla ice cream. At midnight, the countdown with the twelve lucky grapes, goodie bag and a champagne toast will mark the arrival of the new year, followed by a DJ party until dawn.

  •

At Veraz, enjoy dinner with live music by singer Alex Dee, dishes such as Regal Oyster No. 2 au naturel, Lobster in its sauce with tomato powder and chervil and Beef tenderloin from the Mercat de Santa Caterina with potato millefeuille and black melanosporum truffle, countdown, grapes, goodie bag and access to the Cabaret party with 1 drink included.

  •

And at The Roof, enjoy al fresco dining with views accompanied by a DJ, saxophone and live percussion. On the menu: Palamós red prawn carpaccio with EVOO and egg yolk, Matured sirloin steak with black melanosporum truffle and potato millefeuille, and the dessert Paisaje Nevado (Madagascar vanilla mousse with coconut ice cream). Midnight toast with grapes and goodie bag, and party at Cabaret with 1 drink included.

But there's more. In the Punch Room, Christmas punch. And in the lobby, the opportunity to admire the Festive Tree by Florestudio, which has been conceived for the occasion from an artistic, sensory and contemporary perspective. Wrapped as if in that gesture of affection that is a hug, it transforms the familiar into the unexpected.
