La despensa de Mitre
An uptown restaurant and cocktail bar with an impacting interior design and varied food offering with something for everyone, La Despensa de Mitre is worth taking an excursion to discover. Recently re-launched with a new interior design, new chef and a new menu, the restaurant includes different spaces open for lunch and dinner from Monday through Saturday.
The menu includes a combination of traditional Mediterranean dishes as well as a range of Asian inspired options such as the crunchy chicken, mayonnaise, rocoto and mint yogurt bao; the plate of marinated salmon with wakame algae and ponzu dressing; or the 65º boiled egg, Santa Pau green beans, butifarra de Perol and cuttlefish, a traditional recipe that has been reinterpreted here to achieve a combination of subtle and complimentary textures. All beautifully presented on different dishes and serving plates.

The lunch time executive set-menu (served between Monday and Friday) provides a great introduction to the La Despensa de Mitre cuisine, a main course and choice between three desserts for 25 Eur., the options are changed regularly depending on the season and best ingredients available.

The space which was previously three separate establishments now joined together, is decorated with plush upholstery, timber floors and comfortable seating. A place to spend time, organised into different rooms that have a club like ambience, there is also a basement area decorated like a library or private gentleman’s club that can be reserved for private events.

La Despensa de Mitre combines a carefully studied selection of mostly Spanish D.O. wines from with its gastronomic offer, including numerous local references, as well as other international French, German and Austrian options. The cocktail menu is classified under several categories, among which are appetizers, signature cocktails and the classic cocktails. A unique ambience that has become a favourite meeting point in the area, thanks to its mixology with drinks prepared by barman Jordi Roig (@jordirbartender).
Opening: From Monday through Saturday, 1 pm till 4pm and 8 pm till 1 am.
