Now in its third annual edition after having more than 6,000 attendees in 2017, this year the main objective for IBCF is once again to introduce specialty coffee to the coffee drinkers not yet familiar with the great array of possibilities. Also, for the first time ever, the event includes two whole days aimed at the professional sector: roasters, importers, coffee shop owners, baristas and all the actors involved in the specialty coffee chain value.

Among the confirmations taking part with IBCF this edition are prestigious professionals like Klaus Thomsen, founder of Coffee Collective and world champion barista in 2006, who will be flying from Copenhagen to talk about direct trade, the procedure for which is known the Danish company.

Also amongst the speakers will be Morgan Love, founder of Silo Coffee and Krésten Thøgersen from Father Carpenter Coffee. Berlin based their talk will include many topics, including their new joint coffee roasting project Fjord Coffee Roasters. Other interesting talks include Cory Andreen from Motel Minibar (Berlin) and Michal Molcan from Standart Mag (Prague) who will also share interesting ideas like working on a critical approach of tasting coffee or the importance of visual communication in the strategy of specialty coffee businesses.

Last but not least, on Saturday 13th within the open doors day, there will be different workshops and talks focused not only on specialty coffee but also on other products with a shared sensibility like natural wine and craft beers. Among the highlights: the beer and coffee tasting by Mikel Rius from Barcelona Beer Festival and the natural wine and coffee activity by Stefano Colombo from Bar Brutal restaurant and Marcos Bartolomé from Satan’s Coffee Corner. Also, there will be free and non-stop coffee in the espresso and brew bars and local food.
