Recipe book, Beta editorial
Published by Beta editorial as part of their series Foodies Friends collection the second instalment, guide books where the protagonists are the chefs and their creations. In Tapeo Daniel Rueda shares some of his most emblematic recipes and pays homage to the "tapear" ritual. The book is hardcover in easy-to-use format, with texts and recipes in Spanish and English, and has a practical elastic band to mark the page.
The book examines the origins of the tapa from historical legends to the twentieth century, as a quick response to stave off being peckish. For Daniel Rueda, creator of the Tapeo restaurant, “it’s a way to share, not only food, but also conversation and friendship.” His tapas recipes are the result of his restaurant experience and the fusion of concepts, with contemporary flourishes reflecting what’s popular currently expressed through honest and traditional cuisine, without forgetting about the genuine meaning of the "tapa" in its strictest origin. The book includes a total of ten infallible tapas recipes for impressing guests.
For Daniel Rueda defining his concept of tapas is easy, "... tapas are like a daily menu made to suit individual needs", which is just what he does, creating exquisite dishes for spoon and fork style, that adapt to the tastes of his guests and who achieve the excellence of this gastronomic concept of humble origin. The first TAPEO restaurant was founded by Daniel Rueda, and his young and committed team more than eight years with Tapeo Born located at Montcada 29, 08003 Barcelona, and the most recent Tapeo restaurant has just opened in the Gràcia area of Barcelona at C / Topazi 8, 08012 Barcelona. An impressive space that manages to combine the bohemian and international ambience of this historical city neighbourhood, and with which Daniel is guaranteed to surprise and gain new fans. Now they have the opportunity to purchase his first book of recipes, sold at either of his restaurants.
