Sea You is not just a tapas restaurant, a cocktail bar, a shop and a place to hang out, it’s also a club offering sporting activities centred around the Mediterranean. The latest Sea You to open in Barcelona is just a stone’s throw from Passeig de Gracia, in the middle of the city’s Quadrat d’Or neighbourhood. Once past the threshold however, the feeling is of being transported to directly the beach with a laid back, plant filled interior design. The founding spirit of Sea You is inspired by surf culture and everything connected with life by the sea, from diet, to exercise, meditation and even fashion.

The new multifaceted space on Gran Via provides a city centre hub for surfing enthusiasts. There is a bar at the entrance which connects with an upper mezzanine level dining area flooded with natural light and exotic potted plants with an outdoor vibe. A semi-basement area leads to a shop selling Sea You merchandise and a cocktail bar area while a lower-level vaulted space can accommodate organised events, workshops, yoga classes and other activities. The eclectic programme caters to non-surfers and surfers alike.

    The 500 sq.m. interior, located in the middle of Barcelona, includes three floors offering different experiences, with a striking design featuring jungle vegetation. At the heart of the space there’s a large skylight that floods the interior with natural light. The décor features maritime and beach elements such as Balinese swings and surf boards, framed by natural materials such as wood and leather.

    The Sea You group began life in 2020 during the Covid pandemic at the San Sebastián beach within the Club Natación Barcelona offering a range of water sports including paddle board surfing, foil and wing surfing as well as other related activities. The second Sea You opened subsequently in Badalona, this time incorporating a surfer bar and terrace right on the beach with a food offering to match.  There will be another Sea You opening later this year in the Eixample, on Enric Granados with Consell de Cent.

    The restaurant, which is open from 9 a.m. till 1 a.m., reflects the surfer philosophy, with healthy dishes and international style street food and several vegan and vegetarian options. There is a brunch and tapas menu for grabbing something to eat at any time of day or night. The drinks menu includes specialty coffee, natural juices and colourful cocktails, among many other options.
