One of the sure signs that summer has arrived in Barcelona is when SALT Restaurant & Beach Club opens again, the restaurant on the beach level of the W Barcelona Hotel with a cocktail bar and outdoor terrace that could be argued to have the most spectacular views of any terrace in the city.

The food at SALT is laid back and fun, dishes that reflect what the surroundings. A drinks and food menu that is updated every year to explore new trends and keep diners guessing. This year the culinary offering revolves around “I’m NOT a Chef”, where three young local movers and shakers are invited to come up with a signature burger for inclusion on the SALT menu.

    Keep the Rhythm, Laura Put (winner)

    The model and influencer Alex Domenech has come up with a burger featuring veal smothered in barbecue sauce, cheddar cheese, tomato, lettuce and jalapeños, which he has christened Yankee Fever. The actress and DJ Laura Put, has created a burger with Iberian pork and goat cheese, caramelised onions and escalibada, (flame grilled vegetabes) called Keep the Rythym. Finally, the model, influencer and sports fanatic, Daniel Illescas, has authored a hamburger based on beef, cheddar cheese, crispy bacon, green tomato and guacamole, called Born to Be Wild. The three new contributions bring together a menu that includes SALT ICON, or Asian Burger (with wagu meat) - already established favourites.

    This summer SALT also introduces completely new dishes based on fresh and market ingredients ideal for sharing during long days on the beach, such as the Prawn Pops (prawns wrapped in potato popcorn with kimchee mayonnaise), their new selection of tasty salads, or the Flatbread (a thin dough with pesto, tomato, olive, burrata, arugula, serrano ham and parmesan.
