The tastes of summer all year long
The change of season brings with it the introduction of the autumn menu at L’Estupendu, a restaurant that rewards making an effort visiting for non-residents of Badalona where the restaurant is located, practically positioned directly on its beach. Nowadays when having a terrace can make the difference between surviving and closing for a restaurant in the era of Covid-19 the dining area of L’Estupendu occupies an outdoor terrace covered by a canopy and therefore open summer, autumn, winter and spring. Occupying a building that used to function as baths for the Mediterranean Sea directly in front now the inside area accommodates the kitchen, bar and some seating.
There is a very special ambience surrounding L’Estupendu, like the carefree good vibes of a chiringuito recalling the days of summer holidays that can be fleetingly recaptured. Although just a few minutes stroll from the train station there is a quietness that is only broken by the sounds of the gentle waves breaking over the sand and the conversation from other tables. The rustic charm and décor feel very authentic at L’Estupendu with its laid back seaside vibe.

L’Estupendu operates all year around and has a solidity that anchors the gastronomic proposal to its setting. Of course the sea food and the fish dishes are the main protagonists of the culinary offering but there really is something for everyone in terms of the choices. It goes without saying that the ingredients are all local, seasonal and exceptionally good quality. Consult the menu for the Fresh Fish of the day and Rice Dishes, for meat lovers the Autumn menu features Butifarra, Sirloin steak and aged Galician veal. Amongst the must-try starters / tapas are the Fried aubergines and honey, the Cuttle fish Croquetas and the Salmon Tartar kimchi mayonnaise and wasabi. There is also an assortment of desserts like the Espuma de crema catalana and pastries.
