Rocambolesc-Casa Cacao pop-up store at La Roca Village
For the second consecutive year, the sweet world of Jordi Roca and El Celler de Can Roca has returned to La Roca Village in the form of a temporary space.
It has done so with all its unique creations for those with a sweet tooth –both iconic and new– ice creams, and the sandwiches from La Bikineria, which offers a fixed menu of four (Classic, Iberian, Pastrami, Vegetable) and the sandwich of the month (Turkish in November), for a break during what is expected to be a busy day of shopping*.
Among the new products is Celestial Notes, the 2025 Advent Calendar, with Rocambolesc's characteristic playful spirit. To count down the days until Christmas, this carefully crafted music box, with a nutcracker that spins when you wind it up, hides twenty-four surprises: chocolates made with cocoa from different origins, biscuits, caramels, candied fruits and nuts chocolate-covered, mini bars, gummy candies, mini filled biscuit cones (Unicornets) and even a polvorón. For its part, Casa Cacao has an elegant fold-out Christmas tree with several levels that conceal a complete experience of cocoa textures and flavours.

They have also presented the Nut-Cracker, filled with almond, hazelnut and peanut chocolates; chocolate spheres to decorate the Christmas tree; chocolate-covered ginger biscuits, which come in a bag made by Ecosol, a social integration association run by Càritas Girona, and Cromo Taronja nougat, inspired, like other members of its family (Làctic, Anarkia, Poma de Fira), by an iconic dessert from El Celler de Can Roca. Along with all this, the essential Caganer with a customisable face and sunflower seed nougat with yuzu caramel, and 1 kg or 500 g panettones, classic or cocoa-gianduja-dried apricot, to spread with two creams -pistachio or caramel- and make them even more irresistible, complete a range that is the result of many months of R&D work. Jordi's ideas are brought to life by his partner and co-founder of Rocambolesc, Ale Rivas, with the shared desire to ‘bring a little fantasy to the daily lives of young and old alike, especially at Christmas, which is the perfect time to play with creativity, surprise and share’.

For Jordi Roca, who sees sweetness as a celebration, aided by a sense of humour, meticulous detail in an overall gastronomic experience makes all the difference. He finds inspiration on the street and enjoys the entire creative process, from opening his ‘folder of crazy ideas’ to bring them to life, something that happens when he externalises them and shares them with his team, to that exciting moment when he knows he has paved the way.
His references include designer Andreu Carulla, architects Olga Felip and Oriol Roselló, and artists Vasili Kandinsky and Takashi Murakami. He also declares himself a fan of electronic music. So much so that, encouraged by a friend, he trained as a DJ at the Eumes school with Edu Pérez (son of the owner of the legendary club La Sala del Cel) and DJed at local holidays in Girona under the name JordiStone. Enjoying himself and making sure others have a good time is his only aspiration. On the day we met, he proudly showed us his Spotify playlist, which includes the song La Gorra, an accessory that is also on sale at the La Roca Village pop-up store. And we must acknowledge his interpretative talent in the visuals of his products, in which he stars. -

When asked about his trio of eaux de toilette –Núvol de Llimona, Confit, Trinitario– a conceptual twist of the perfumes he recreated tastefully in the dishes at El Celler, the pastry chef at the three-Michelin-starred restaurant in Girona says, ‘they make the user apettising’.
