Parking Sótano feels vaguely familiar yet very different at the same time. The entrance is shared with Parking Pizza on Passatge Marimon (the third Parking Pizza in Barcelona) with a moody basement illuminated during the day by an enormous skylight at one end. Just like the other Parking projects the ambience is laid back and friendly with a carefully curated interior design that sets the scene. The tables are shared which reinforces the informal vibe while the service is efficient and professional. Be warned however, Parking Sótano is for meat lovers, the menu is short but varied with a great selection of side dishes and an appropriate wine selection.

There is a constant buzz of conversation around the shared tables at Parking Sótano while the grill takes pride of place in the open plan kitchen and provides a shimmering spectacle. Almost all the main dishes and shared portions are cooked on the grill: options such as the 500-gramme entrecôte (for sharing between two), or the 200-gramme sliced ​​Galician beef sirloin or the Galician beef steak tartare as main courses or the grilled lettuce hearts with lime vinaigrette, the potato and parsnip Parmentier and the grilled artichokes, butter, and smoked salt on the side. The grilled sourdough bread with smoked butter as a starter or the Extremadura raw sheep's milk cheese melted in the oven, the grilled avocado, tomato tartare, lime and pink salt and the 100-gramme Black Angus beef cecina. There is a selection of sauces including Café de Paris and Chimichurri to accompany the meat dishes.

    Sliced ​​Galician beef tenderloin (200 gr.)

    The set-price midday menu daily begins with a bowl of greens, followed by three main courses: a choice of beef Milanese, a 120-gram beef burger, and a 120-gram Galician beef sirloin. A selection of sides includes grilled vegetables, French fries, or potato parmentier. Dessert includes ice cream, truffles, or coffee. Water or a glass of wine is included. The price of €22.50 includes a €5 supplement for sirloin.
