ODA Restaurant & Cocktail Bar
Barcelona's Casino
Barcelona’s Casino is a city within a city, with its own unique dynamic, a place where you even need to show ID to get past the security. Operating on a different time zone the Casino is a place that rarely sleeps illuminated with electric and neon lights. With its prime location at the Olympic Village what many people will not be aware of is that the Casino is also a centre of gastronomy accommodating five separate restaurants, cocktail bars and even a concert venue with a programme of live performances. The latest addition is ODA a restaurant and cocktail bar that operates between the hours of 8 pm and 3.30 am (an hour later on holidays) with a tempting gastronomic offering.
ODA’s cuisine is inspired by the continent of South America and its rich variety of food traditions and cultures that stretches from Mexico to Patagonia. The chef Paco Gómez is a native of Mexico who has been living and working in Spain for some 18 years now. Included amongst the highlights on the menu are the variety of tacos (with vegan options); Fillet of Cod with spinach and veracruzana sauce; the Cream of Green Poblano Pepper served warm with corn, shrimp and feta cheese; or the boracho style lamb Enchilada. Diners can also choose from a tasting menu with two different options. From 12 midnight ODA is also a cocktail bar with drinks also inspired by South America like tequila, mescal and rum. Classics like the Margarita Clàssic Tequila, triple sec, lemon juice and salt as well as more creative options: La Paloma Mescal with cranberry juice, lemon juice, orange soda.

The interior design is the work of Alex March Studio inspired by the world of artificial lighting, projections and luminous effects combined with natural materials like wood and rope (almost 8,000 meters in total were used for the project). An ambience that belongs to the night. The natural wood tables are inlaid with a green translucent resin, the main decorative element is the use of rope which is used to create dividing screens and contemporary chandeliers on the ceiling. The double spot lights provided over the tables were custom designed for ODA using iron, manufactured by Fugrup. The restaurant is separated from the casino floor by a bespoke screen configured by fractal geometry providing an element of privacy.
