Our ancestors made sure to fatten themselves up with the fruits of the land in order to see themselves through the difficult winter months. For anyone planning to dine out over the coming days in Barcelona we’ve prepared a list of some of the best options.

The salubrious surroundings of the Majestic Hotel & Spa Barcelona make the perfect setting for enjoying the holiday fare. The culinary offering is a collaboration between Michelin Star chef Nandu Jubany (assessor to the hotel) together with executive chef David Romero and SOLC chef Luis Llamas. For Christmas Eve there’s a tasting menu with dishes such as the Foie nougat with ratafía reduction, Vilanova Crayfish tartare, parmentier. Christmas day lunch is inspired by the Majestic Brunch Experience with its selection of fish and meat dishes as well as a special wine pairing. While among the highlights of Saint Stephen’s day are the San Esteban Truffled cannelloni and the Turbot served with hazelnuts and pistachios as well as the prawns ravioli.

Osetra Caviar and Champagne
The New Year’s Eve menu features delicacies such as the jamon de bellota on pan de coca, Potato gold bar with Osetra caviar King crab with plankton mayonnaise, Rubia Gallega beef, black truffe dauphinoise and a winter vegetable cocotte, together with a wide selection of entrees. Complete with Saint Sylvester petits foursNougats, wafers, lucky grapes, and a gift bag. Before hand diners can visit the rooftop La Dolce Vitae between 6 and 9 pm to savour Osetra caviar served with Dom Pérignon Vintage 2009. The perfect prelude to a magical night of celebration.

A combination of traditional cuisine and modern cooking techniques in a warm setting. The Christmas offering at Casa Àngela reflects its famous cuisine, tapas and good quality seasonal food that is designed for sharing. The special menus are There are three different options to choose from: the Menú Pica Pica Navidad, the Menú Navidad (slightly more upmarket) and the Green Menú Navidad (for vegetarians). Aimed at groups with a minimum of 10 people, each menu is filled with tasty options. But all featuring the patatas bravas, croquettes and excellent range of desserts that has made the restaurant famous.

With one of the most central locations in all of Barcelona Le Meridien and CentOnze offers special Christmas menus for groups, families as well as all-in-packages for staying overnight. Chef Luis Ramos conceives a series of special menus for the holidays such as the Christmas Eve dinner with a mixture of warm and cold dishes and the Christmas Day lunch, including appetizer, the traditional Escudella and Capon amongst other dishes. The Saint Stephen’s Day lunch includes the traditional cannelloni, a local favourite. Followed by the New Year's Eve Gala dinner with a wide selection of appetizers, varied meat and fish dishes such as the Lobster or mi-cuit, for a delicious dinner before welcoming 2020 at the Cotillon de Le Pop Cocktail Bar, also included (having reserved gala dinner). And for the first meal of 2020, the New Year's Lunch proposal includes a snack menu and a selection of dishes to choose from.

Perhaps not an obvious choice for Christmas, New Year’s and the holidays but nevertheless there are special dishes on offer at Bo-Bao during the holidays. The new chef Nyoman Wijana introduces some typical Indonesian dishes such as the refried rice and the dumplings which together with the in-house signature cocktails are guaranteed to get you into the Christmas spirit.
