Monster Sushi #03

c/ Girona, Eixamle

Por Brian Gallagher 24.04.22

The notion of eating Asian food in Barcelona is always conditioned by the influence of local factors, be it where the ingredients are sourced from, the chef’s training and experience or the overall ambience of the restaurant. It will always be a version of the real thing. This is true for sushi restaurants especially however Monster Sushi gets very close to the real thing, and the differences are to be celebrated given that they are catering to local palette.

The creative force behind the gastronomic offering is Fabiola Lairet, one of the few certified female sushi chefs in the world, trained in Japan when she resided there . This latest venture, the third, serves the same gastronomic offering as the other Monsters. An offering that combines classic and more contemporary sushi as well as other Japanese cuisine. Fabiola combines familiar and family friendly dishes with more daring options, there’s something on the menu to satisfy all tastes here.
