The guiding concept behind this latest addition to Barcelona’s fervent cocktail bar scene is to create an environment where customers are treated like guests invited to a fictional character’s home, the eponymous Mary Boone; Raconteur, art lover with impeccable taste and gregarious hostess. Aimed at an urbane and sociable public who understand that ‘going out is the new staying in’. Located on C/ Valencia (between Aribau and Muntaner) the irregular shaped layout is divided into zones along its length, from street terrace to lounge, cocktail bar to dance floor and video art area towards the rear. Music, art and cocktails are mixed in equal measure. The cocktails are created by Miguel Ángel Palau, renowned mixologist who has combined the classics with a range of new creations that are inspired by international artists including Francis Bacon (Old Fashioned), Sindy Sherman (Jack Rose) and Jeff Koons (Aviation) to name just a few.
