La cocina de Clara by TresTrastos

18.05.12
  • Inspired by a fictitious client Clara (a virtual food critic and blogger) this kitchen design was presented at the latest edition of Casa Décor in Barcelona (November 2011). The installation of this cutting edge design within a typical 19th Century type space presented its own challenges but these young designers have managed to create an inventive, practical, cutting edge and very beautiful solution.

Their allotted space was a relatively small one divided into internal room with access to part of the sun gallery overlooking the internal courtyard. Using sliding doors and surfaces, concealed kitchen equipment, sleek materials, touch controls and clever storage areas their project feels genuinely fresh and makes the very most of the available space.

Materials include Solid surface, porcelain and an unusual textile melamine finish. The lighting is also touch controlled and allows the virtual client to upload images of recipes to the web. The fitted kitchen company BGV Mobles de Cuina sponsored the project. TresTrastos is a young award winning design practice (Judit Bustos and Júlia Garcia) who recently graduated from Interior Design School.
