La Barra del 7 Portes Galvany
7 Portes goes uptown
The city’s classic restaurants like 7 Portes are classics for a reason, for 185 years it has been serving market fresh cuisine, mostly local Catalan recipes in one of the most emblematic settings imaginable, the Porxos d’en Xifrè next to Barcelona’s Old Port. After all this time and renown it’s only fitting that this formula should look to expand to other neighbourhoods. And that is the premise of La Barra del 7 Portes Galvany. It’s actually the second more informal version of 7 Portes, the other is located directly behind the mother restaurant La Barra del 7 Portes Pla de Palau.
La Barra del 7 Portes Galvany is located on c/ Amigó 53, next to the food market, in a lively area of the Sant Gervasi neighbourhood. This is the first time that the 7 Portes cuisine, recognised as a traditional benchmark of Barcelona, is available in the city’s uptown neighbourhood. The offering includes some of its most emblematic recipes, from tapas to rice dishes, all prepared under the watchful eye of chef Jaime Pérez Sicilia, Head Chef of the historic restaurant since 2017.
