Independent Barcelona Coffee Festival
Second edition of the specialty coffee culture festival
After a very successful first edition this year the IBCF is back with its ambitious programme and determination to become a meeting point for the speciality coffee community in Spain.
The IBCF Project is an initiative of All Those, Nømad Coffee, Right Side Coffee, Satan’s Coffee Corner and Skye Coffee Co. which this year includes a lot more content. The event which is unique in Barcelona includes participants from all areas of coffee culture, coffee shops, toasters working in the speciality area and guests from all around Europe.
New this is the an entire day (Friday May 5) dedicated exclusively to professionals linked to the specialty coffee sector, with talks and workshops aimed at owners of coffee shops, baristas, roasters and coffee enthusiasts who want to delve deeper into specific topics, such as what effects the degree of coffee grinding has on the extraction of flavour, or the importance of water, as well as offering participants the chance to taste samples calibrated by some of the most recognized importers worldwide such as Nordic Approach or 32cup.

And on Saturday May 6, coinciding with the Poblenou Open Day, Space 88 will open its doors to anyone who is curious about this new movement in coffee culture. Because in addition to being able to taste without limit the coffee of the best toasters of the country throughout the day, other activities have been programmed involving some of the main players on the local gastronomic scene, such as chefs, sommeliers and producers. Music, food, craft beers, natural wines and coffee inspired cocktails will also all be on offer throughout the event.
