Hotel Tapa Tour, Barcelona

One of the main catalysts behind the revolution in Barcelona’s culinary scene over the last 20 years has been the city’s hotels. Another is the tapas culture, not only popular amongst the locals but something that all visitors come looking for. With this event, Hotel Tapas Tour the two come together in a way that is not only an aportunity to sample the gastronomy of some of the finest chefs but also a way of visiting some of the most prestigious hotels, restaurants and terraces in Barcelona. And what’s even better at unbeatable value for money. The upper cost of the pairing is 12 Eur. but the majority are between 7 and 9.
The Hotel Tapa Tour (for the second consecutive year) takes place in Barcelona from the 4th until the 14th of May. For ten days, the public will be able to sample two different tapas, with wine pairing and cavas, in each of the 34 participating hotels: the competition tapa, which is being judged by the attending public through a special App, and a solidarity tapa, out of competition, the profits for which will be destined to a social or environmental cause chosen by each establishment.

These gastronomic tapas are accompanied by an excellent selection of wines and cavas, sourced from the premier wineries of Catalonia, Codorníu and Raimat, that feature denomination of origins from the Cava and Costers del Segre regions, respectively.

Hotel Tapa Tour is an independent initiative dedicated to the promotion of hotel gastronomy through a unique gastronomic experience. We talked about the first author's tapas route in 4 * and 5 * urban hotels.

There are three categories within the tapas competition initiative: Tapas de la Tierra, for ones made with meats, poultry or vegetables; Tapas del Mar, for the ones made with fish or seafood; And Tapas del Cielo, sweet tapas. The most voted tapas in each category will receive a prize that will be awarded by the organization during the closing ceremony. In addition, all voters registered through the contest App will enter the draw for a two-person ticket to any destination of Norwegian Airlines in the US (Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York or Miami).
