With the summer on the horizon and (finally) the arrival of warmer evenings one of the best places to enjoy al fresco dining in Barcelona is among the city’s rooftop terraces, many of which are located within its wonderful collection of hotels. One of the most recent to open and one that is completely accessible to the public is the H10 Madison. The hotel is located on C/ Dr. Joaquim Pou, between Via Laietana and Pla de la Seu, just around the corner from Barcelona’s Cathedral. A great location, in the heart of the Gothic Quarter next to the Borne, making it the perfect choice for a get together with friends to escape the hot and stuffy streets and feel the sea breeze on its rooftop terrace while enjoying a cocktail and Madison’s food offering.

The hotel’s gastronomic offering includes a ground floor restaurant, The Avenue an elegant space (interior design by Lázaro Rosa-Violán) with direct access from the street that includes a restaurant and cocktail bar, with a menu that features seasonal, market fresh Mediterranean-inspired dishes. Along with a selection of salads, cured Iberian hams and other embutidos, and dishes like the classic hummus, olive and beetroot with pita bread, the tuna tataki with cous cous and mango mayonnaise or the crispy coconut shrimp with passion fruit sauce.

    But undoubtedly, one of the areas that will surprise visitors most is the impressive Terrassa del Gòtic, located on the top floor with panoramic views of the Cathedral the city and the surrounding roofscape. The perfect place to enjoy the outdoors with a cocktail in hand accompanied by homemade tapas during the spring-summer season.
