Gallina de Piel, a boutique winery
Roca del Crit + Manar dos Seixas
Discovering and trying out new wine labels is an enjoyable activity at any time of the year but during the winter months, and especially during the era of Covid 19 is has almost become a necessity. When choosing a wine label there are many factors at play; starting with the grape, the pedigree of the wine maker, the presentation of the bottle (the actual label itself) and most importantly of all the taste and what it pairs best with. Gallina de Piel is a wine label conceived in Catalonia which for the moment includes 4 varieties, 2 white and 2 red, including Roca del Crit (red) and Manar dos Seixas (white).
The beauty of a small label is the individual attention to the details and the personal story behind the founding and the day-to-day management. In the case of Gallina de Piel the figure where all parts come together is David Seijas Vila who trained as a Sommelier before working at El Bulli and other restaurants. The philosophy behind the label is to introduce quality wines to the public and to make an impression appealing to all the senses. The labels are works of art in their own right, each element of the illustrations refers to an aspect of the elaboration or the geographical location of the grapes’ origins.
