FIRE + Malparit

Two-hander cooking

20.11.25

The saying “two heads are better than one” is a recipe for creativity and fresh thinking except when it comes to cooking. As a rule, the kitchen works best under a single vision. However, the collaboration between FIRE and Malparit is an exception to the rule. The meeting of one of Barcelona’s most individual and trend setting restaurants (Malparit) with the extraordinary setting and know-how of FIRE makes for a singular culinary experience. One that can be enjoyed until December 15th at FIRE, with views over the Mediterranean as a backdrop and the expertise of two cuisines that share fire, tradition and a contemporary twist.

FIRE is managed by chef Mario Cabrera, the restaurant is located on the ground floor of the hotel, W Barcelona's flagship gastronomic concept. With its charcoal-grilled cuisine, emphasis on fire and locally sourced ingredients, Cabrera has created a menu that combines age-old technique and Mediterranean sensibility in a space with unmatched views along the entire coastline.

The other half of the collaboration, Malparit, is the fourth project from the No Hay Mañana group, led by Leo Chechelnitzkiy. This establishment combines a traditional tapas bar with slow-cooked dishes, premium whole cuts of meat, and shared dishes. The kitchen, under the direction of Alfredo Rodríguez, focuses on the excellence of the ingredients and a relaxed gastronomic experience, with humour and professionalism as its hallmarks.
