Dos Torres
Carles Cases' summer menu
Some restaurants provide a dining experience that is as much about the location, the place and its ambience as it is about the food and taste. Located in the salubrious Sarrià neighbourhood Dos Torres is such a place, a villa built in the modernisme style surrounded by gardens and terraces it provides without doubt one of the most spectacular backdrops for fine dining in Barcelona. Originally constructed at the beginning of the 20th Century the building fell into disrepair but was extensively remodelled in 2009 and now accommodates two restaurants La Jacaranda (a Bohemian gastro-bar) on the ground floor and Dos Torres on the first floor. The interior design project is by Estrella Salietti, a sensitive combination of the found and the new, with art works and murals mixed with vintage furniture and light fittings, linen table cloths and timber panelling.
The restaurant is accessed through a lush terrace and landscaped garden that surrounds the building providing a "green urban oasis" that includes a chill-out area. Organised over different levels covering approximately 200 sq.m. the space is divided into several discrete corners that invite diners to relax with friends, family or just contemplate the world alone in a privileged setting. Both the restaurants and the garden have private areas that can be booked for corporate or family events.
