Tapa + beer = 2.40 Euros

A gastronomic initiative promoting the restaurant sector of Barcelona, not only for locals but also for visitors to the city. On Wednesday last, February 20th the sixth edition of the ‘De Tapes Per Barcelona’ route was launched. This latest edition includes 66 different eateries and will be going on from February 21st through to March 3rd, sponsored by the Barcelona Guild of Food and Estrella Damm as well as the City Council, Loodic and Gastronosfera.

Now in its third year the route featuring ​​the best tapas in the city has become a must for local Barcelona residents. The 66 establishments will be competing for the best ‘tapa’ award offering customers a gastronomic snack accompanied by an Estrella Damm at a very competitive price of 2.40 Euros. The success of previous editions has lead to a further 25 entries to this year’s competition which this year is expected to exceed the 57,000 tapas served in locations throughout the city. The jury will award three prizes; ‘Tapa Gremio de Restauración’ based on preparation, originality and creativity; the ‘Tapa Estrella Damm’ based on which tapa combines best with the beer or uses it as an ingredient and the ‘Tapa Popular’ voted on by members of the public.
