Abimis x Espai Rö

Until March 21st, the architecture studio and showroom of design furniture Espai Rö exposes "Dalla cucina alla tavola" ("From the kitchen to the table"), an exhibition dedicated to design and gastronomy.

For the occasion, Espai Rö has selected some objects and pieces of furniture representative of their personal view on that universe, among which the Ego kitchen of the Italian firm Abimis stands out. Designed by Alberto Torsello, Ego translates high quality and technology from professional stainless steel kitchens for hotels and restaurants to the domestic sphere. Some characteristics of Ego are the absence of joints, the rounded profiles, the resistance to shocks, the orbital polish that reduces the visibility of scratches and fingerprints, and the hinges welded and hidden from view.

    But other creations also seduce the refined and design-conscious visitors: the Carlo Scarpa (1977) and Vico Magistretti (1986) cutlery for Cleto Munari, the contributions of John Pawson (2005) and Vincent Van Duysen (2004) ) to the When Objects Work collection, the Hommage sideboard of the Swiss house Röthlisberger Kollektion designed by Atelier Oï (2012), the Libreria Pensile of A. & PG Castiglioni (1957) for the Danish publisher Karakter-Copenhagen, and up to a total of 41 pieces, from brands such as Mingardo, PP Møbler, Davide Groppi, Moroso and Venini.

    During the inauguration, which took place on December, the food designer Pepi de Boissieu devised a gourmand experience based on the concept "ode to the sea". A mountain of seaweed spaghetti was prepared on the Abimis Island and each guest was able to serve, directly from the sink faucet, a glass of Orange, a natural orange wine that results from the pressing process of the white grape with its own skin. And under the light of the Moon lamp by Davide Groppi, a seabed formed by sponges of sponge cake ended the journey.
