Makeover & new menu
With the gradual reopening of the city’s hotels little by little one of Barcelona’s best culinary resources is also back; hotel restaurants. CentOnze is one of them, a bastion of the Ramblas’ gastronomic scene with a brand new interior designmake-over and updated food offering. What has not changed however, is the commitment to seasonal produce, freshly prepared, with traditional Mediterranean dishes. Its location hasn’t changed either, just 111 steps from the Boqueria Market, at 111 La Rambla. The cuisine pays homage to one of the world’s most visited markets and ingredients are almost all locally sourced.
CentOnze is a great option for lunch or dinner, not only for its central location but also its carefully constructed menus. The new décor has a definite green feel, not just the colour but with planting and the tableware which frames the food offering beautifully. The menu includes a choice of traditional tapas: Beetroot salmorejo (thick soup served cold), Patatas bravas mille feuille, Homemade croquettes, Bomba de la Barceloneta (large croquette) stuffed with Iberian pork, Free Range Egg with foie sauce Port wine and fresh turffle. And main dishes (that can be shared) as well as a selection of grilled options such as: Cod, Aged T-bone steak from the Pyrenees, Km 0 Veal Hamburger. For pasta lovers there are also some seasonal options and the Rice dishes at CentOnze are still renowned (minimum two persons). The Piña a la vanilla, coco, mango, manzana verde y helado de yogur is the star of the desert menu. But there are several other options to choose from including Crema Catalana.

The Signature Cocktail Bar
CentOnze is situated on one of the city’s key areas, on the corner of Pintor Fortunty and La Rambla, between the Raval and the Gothic Quarter. The dining area offers panoramic views over the streetscape directly outside. There is an entrance directly off the Rambla as well as connecting with the reception area on C/ Pintor Fortuny. Inside the Signature Cocktail bar is ideal for pre or after dinner drinks or just a pick-me-up during the day. It shares the same space with CentOnze which makes it an ideal meeting point.
