By Brian Gallagher 23.11.21

The most universal of all Italian dishes is pasta, known and loved around the world. A simple ingredient pasta can be appreciated by all strata of society. Now with a very special once-off event Barcelona gets to celebrate this famous food with La Settimana de la Cucina Italiana. The event will be celebrated the week starting November 22nd and will continue till December 5th with the participating restaurants creating a special pasta dish for the event.

Pasta is nothing more than a simple mixture of unleavened dough with wheat flour mixed with water, salt and eggs together with other ingredients. The magic happens in its preparation. Typically pasta is divided between dried varieties and fresh varieties, it comes in many different shapes and formats that are specific to regions of Italy. On this occasion, that of the Le Marche region, a territory recognized for the elaboration of artisan pasta in Italy and in the world. This is a zone where there are really interesting new initiatives happening there with young entrepreneurs providing a fresh take on this age-old favourite.
