With its Galician roots its no surprise that the food at Carballeira is excellent, the seafood and fish dishes are first and foremost fresh. Sourced from the shores of the Atlantic, the Cantabrian Sea and naturally the Mediterranean, cooked to perfection by with Pedro Sánchez como jefe de cocina. The house specialties include the Betanzos omelette, octopus a feira, oysters, barnacles as well as the selection of rice dishes. To celebrate the bar counter dining new options have been added to the menu such as the Alaska red salmon, shrimp and cod carpaccios as well as other locally sourced fish cooked on the grill. Not forgetting the vegetarian options, recommended to always ask the waiter about the "fora de carta" dishes.

The interior, organised into several private and interconnected shared dining rooms, is inspired by the world of ships and sailing. Decorative objects like the brass and glass lamps, portholes, ship models and artwork together with the timber clad walls and linen table cloths recreate a timeless world of navigation.
