Cachitos Diagonal
As the urban landscaping works come to a completion on Diagonal and the new widened footpath slowly reveals itself a whole new generation of establishments is invading the reinvigorated avenue. One of which is Cachitos Diagonal which represents a new addition to the Cachitos family, the original is located on Rambla Catalunya. The formulae here is a similar one, Mediterranean inspired food and a range of classic and contemporary cocktails; fresh and seasonal products, prepared in accordance with traditional Spanish recipes with a contemporary touch. Its extensive menu, created by chef José Miguel Manzanal, offers a wide range of tapas made from top quality raw material sourced from different corners of Spain. Among their popular dishes include: Zucchini Noodles with Prawns and Cuttlefish, Cannelloni with Foie gras and Truffles, Lobster Paella and market-fresh fish. The ‘raw’ bar with oysters and fresh seafood, complete the experience.
The interior design has been created by Estrella Salietti and Pepe López of Futur2 (regular collaborators with the group that manages Cachitos). Within an open and generous space the focus is on quality traditional materials such as wrought iron, caramics, wood and cement and a selection of sift furnishings and carpets, black slates with daily specials written in chalk and over the top light fittings, resulting in a daring and avant-garde decor. Divided into front and back areas, the former dominated by a stylish 4.5 meter high bar overlooking Diagonal while the rear area consists of a cavernous open plan seating area also with its own cocktail bar. The ceilings are vertiginous, the lighting is moody, the space is pure theatre reinforced by the elegant waiter’s uniforms.

Cachitos Diagonal also offers a diverse range of cocktails the highlight of which is undoubtedly the sangria cocktails, there are 55 different creations to choose from which all feature premium ingredients.
