Opium Barcelona is one of the city’s premier clubs which despite its size (can accommodate up to 2,000 clubbers) has maintained an exclusive philosophy based on its location, its design, the best national and international Djs as well as its excellent gastronomic offering conceived by chef Billy Baroja. With the opening of the Opium club in Madrid last December the club which was founded in Barcelona is 2007 has established itself nationally. Located in the Barceloneta neighbourhood, adjacent to the Hotel Arts on the beach this is the premier leisure zone in Barcelona reflected perfectly by Opium’s terrace (one the largest in the city) and its incredible views over the Mediterranean.
This winter season Opium Barcelona presents a completely new gastronomic offering. This new approach is characterized by contemporary cuisine featuring fresh, seasonal ingredients as the main protagonists. The restaurant is open from 1pm through till midnight and provides a unique experience of dining on its sun drenched terrace during the day or late into the night.

The Opium Barcelona terrace os one of the city's largest
Cocktail bar, restaurant offering an extensive menu, events and night club with the best DJs on the international scene. Its lounge terrace is the perfect place to enjoy long lunches and dinners on the beach in a relaxed yet sophisticated atmosphere. As the evening progresses Opium offers its customers a menu cocktails with an excellent selection of contemporary and classic drinks together with a choice of bar food accompanied by great music, with the sunset as a backdrop.

Billy Baroja was trained at the Joviat School of Tourism and Hospitality. His first jobs were in the Balearic islands, at the Ses Salines and Marivent restaurants, subsequently he worked with some of Spain’s leading catering groups such as Tragaluz, and the Valencia based Riff restaurant (with one Michelin star) as well as the Vía Veneto restaurant (to which he attributes his professional skill). He also worked at famous clubs like Danzatoria until 2006 when he started working with Cosa Este first at Opium Cinema and later overseeing the entire group of restaurants belonging to the group. The main characteristic of his cooking is sincerity and love of food, with the focus on the produce and its treatment.
