Artte presents a unique gastronomic offering in Barcelona, one that is paired with a comprehensive cultural experience that adds to the city’s avant-garde culinary scene.
Artte is a project developed and nurtured by Mario Fradera Fonoll based on his extensive travels around the world while discovering its most celebrated cuisines. Fradera has conceived Artte as a workshop developing culinary and cultural ideas centred on the humble tea plant. Tea, the beverage which has marked the development of civilizations for thousands of years ago; the varieties, the flavours, the ceremony, the design of its utensils – a universal beverage that although not as ubiquitous in Barcelona as coffee is nevertheless becoming ever more popular.

The gastronomic element of the equation is continually assessed by Carl Borg, an culinary approach defined by market fresh ingredients with a marked Mediterranean influence that puts a lot of emphasis on healthy foods rich in nutrients and vitamins. Some of the dishes include influences from world cuisines and of course tea, the star ingredient of Artte has also been introduced to some of the dishes, in fact up to 60 different varieties of tea were tested in order to finalise the menu.

Entre las propuestas más destacados cocinados con té: Tartar de atún con cous cous verde y esferas de aceite, Caballas y foie templados en té rojo, Meloso de cordero con boniato y su jugo al Earl Grey, Sopa Rooibos: una sopa tailandesa reversionada con infusión de rooibos, Tomates con Matcha, bacalao y contrastes. Otras propuestas destacadas sin té entre sus ingredientes serían Aguacate, tierra de remolacha, zanahoria y anchoas, Lomo bajo de ternera con tirabeques, Huevos ecológicos con migas, alcachofas y ajo negro y Tartar a atún rojo con cous cous verde y esferas de aceite.

The space is divided into three zones, the entrance area with bar, seating area dedicated to ephemeral art projects, the middle zone which is a tea emporium and the rear section with its cavernous volume which accommodates the restaurant, cocktail bar and the performance space with regular concerts. The décor is by Lázaro Rosa-Violán and does not disappoint.
