Argila. Mas Bertran
Argila Mas Bertran is not your average traditional cava, its seductive powers are due not only to its flavour but also the highly manicured aesthetic. It obtained the best overall grade from the ‘Guia de Vins de Catalunya’. With its original and contemporary packaging featuring layers of cardboard wrapping the bottle almost like a precious jewel hidden in a concealed cut-out book, Argila is fresh, dry and full bodied. Its clean and luminous pale yellow colour provides a fore-taste of the flavour; its aroma recalls white fruit, bread, marrón glacé and citric notes. Perfect as an aperitif, or for starters, rice dishes, fish or white meats; its refined and elegant elongated taste is dense and velvety making it an ideal gift or for marking a special occasion.
The Mas Bertran winery is run by two brothers, the descendents of viticulturists who after working in the sector for many years had the opportunity of maintaining their heritage of producing a traditional cava. Made from a combination of 65 year old Xarel.lo grown organically and 18 year old Parellada. Approximately 50,000 bottle are produced annually achieved by the traditional one year aging in oak cask.
