C/ Enric Granados is now officially a fully fledged gastronomic district in Barcelona, with its traffic restrictions, wide footpaths, canopy of trees and sun filled terraces it is a street that appeals all-year-round, winter and summer. Perhaps that is why so many restaurants, bars and cafes line its different sections, from Plaza Universidad to Diagonal. The latest addition is actually two places, 71 Oyster Bar Barcelona & La Perla Barceona Club, the former specialising in sea food and the latter a clandestine cocktail bar. One is bright and sparkly, the other dark and mysterious.
The menu at 71 Oyster Bar BCN represents a carefully selected range of the best seafood products in an elegant and sophisticated setting. Marennes Oleron and Normandy oysters with a wonderful variety of condiments to choose from. A selection of fresh and healthy salads. Different types of ceviche, tapas and shellfish and for meat lovers the steak tartar and the beef loin steak. And last but not least a selection of homemade desserts, including Cheescake and Caramel. In addition to several types of tasting menus there is a business lunch menu available at midday.

La Perla is the yin to the 71 Oyster Bar’s yang, a contemporary speakeasy located behind a hidden passageway at the back of the Oyster Bar. The interior design defines a warm and welcoming space divided into several rooms with vintage furniture, suggestive lighting and a range of cocktails that includes the classics as well as signature creations from bartender, Marco Vian. Marco originally from Venice, Italy and now living in Barcelona who is an expert with a dazzling technique, as illustrated by his impeccable Margaritas, Negronis, Dry Martinis or Old Fashioned.
