The Pulitzer roof terrace has all the elements for the perfect afternoon and early evening in Barcelona. A great place to meet with friends, offering unpretentious food, and a varied musical programme, it has a definite summer vibe. And most importantly of all, it’s outdoors. The location, right bang in the city centre just off Plaza Catalunya makes it easy for everyone to access; just about every public transport route in Barcelona runs nearby. The terrace feels intimate but with possibilities for meeting new people.
The food and the ambience at the Pulitzer go far beyond the typical roof terrace. There’s a robata style grill, a fully equipped outdoor kitchen that occupies an entire wall on one side of the terrace. The grill determines the food offering, the brainchild of the hotel chef, Marco Perez, also of La Esquina fame, his signature cuisine is simple, imaginative and seasonal. Conceived for sharing with friends, paired of course with a glass of wine, vermouth or a beer.

The comfortable furniture which includes sofas and armchairs creates a domestic ambience, like a large living room. There are high tables and stools along a central area for eating. The ceramic mural however, based on the city skyline which occupies the wall behind the bar, is the highlight of the Lázaro Rosa-Violán décor. Its glossy finish in golden ochre reflects the setting sun’s rays back into the terrace. With lush planting and numerous tarpaulin there is lots of shade here even on the hottest afternoons.

The food includes grilled dishes such as the Fish Sandwich and the Veggie Burger. Among the desserts are sweet temptations like the creamy chocolate with tonka bean crumble and banana compote, and the creamy Lemon Pie, crumble and Turkish yogurt.

#BuenasTardesPulitzer has established itself over the years as one of the essential events of each summer, which this season also comes with more force than ever after two summers at half throttle, and is positioned as the perfect crossover that results from the mixture between a musical offer exquisite gastronomy.
