SoundEat Plaza

French touch without bulls at La Monumental

By Sergio Pulido 25.04.19

Within the increasingly popular Barcelona market of electronic music for the masses, Sound Eat's proposal has proven to be the most diverse. For a panorama that at times is painted with too much Berghain's techno black, they bring a more colorful palette, a kind of Pantone rainbow of house, disco, and its derivatives. This coming Saturday April 27 at La Monumental, SoundEat Plaza brings a very French programme with two haute cuisine dishes: Alan Braxe on the one hand, and Breakbot with Irfane in DJ set format on the other.

Alan Braxe is, along with Thomas Bangalter and Benjamin Diamond, one of the artists in responsible of "Music sounds better with you", by Stardust, which was one of the most representative house anthems of the late 90s. After that mega hit, he continued his solo career, or in collaboration with Fred Falke or Kris Menace, in addition to remixing for big artists such as Björk, Beyoncé or Charlotte Gainsbourg.

Thibaut Jean-Marie Michel Berland, better known as Breakbot, is one of the great stars of the Ed Banger Records label, and is presented in a DJ back to back format with Irfane, who collaborated with him back in 2010 in the megahit "Baby I'm yours", which inspired the controversial song "Treasure" by Bruno Mars, which finally included the deserved mention of Breakbot in the credits.

The programme is completed with local artist like Deckard in b2b format with Guille de Juan, and the rising talent Spacer. There will also be activities for children, who enter free up to 12 years old, and of course bars and food trucks. All in the special frame of La Monumental, in which sand bulls are no longer killed but boredom.
