Shen Yun Performing Arts was founded in 2006 by a group of Chinese artists who wanted to re-discover and promote the wealth of China’s 5,000 years of traditional culture and history. The company which is based in New York benefits from the artistic freedom that the West provides to represent their works. Each year, three sub-companies tour simultaneously during six months through more than 100 cities in North America, Europe, Oceania and Asia to spread the word.
