The Barcelona summer is undoubtedly a time of frenetic cultural activity, music festivals and open air concerts compete for our attention, the warm weather provides the catalyst to come together and share a few drinks while discovering or rediscovering some great sounds, new artists and musical genres. Located right in the city centre the New Wave Soirees organised by Le Pop Cocktail bar (Rambla 111) is a laid back easy listening live musical offering from a selection of artists who best reflect the cool and laid back style of this very chic and elegant cocktail bar, one of the Ramblas’ most premier bars.

Mixing bossa nova, jazz, pop and easy listening the New Wave Soirees have been held every Wednesday from the middle of June until the start of July, the last show will take place July 8th featuring Saphie Wells and The Summer Lovers. Entrance is free, as well as the music Le Pop Cocktail bar has organised a selection of food to accompany the event, including a ‘caña + tapa’ offer for 4.50 Euros. Kicking off from 19.00 and continuing into the wee small hours of the morning the evenings have provided an opportunity for the public (not just hotel guests, Le Pop Cocktail Bar is located within the Hotel Le Méridien Barcelona) to discover one of the most stylish bars in the city. The entrance to the event is right on the corner of the Ramblas with Pinto Fortuny, just follow the sounds.
