DGTL Barcelona

By Sergio Pulido 10.08.15

The Barcelona summer is in full swing and with it the dance-music offering is dizzyingly wide and varied: all the city’s big clubs are filled with superstar and wanna-be superstar DJs, so much so that choosing a venue for fans of quality electronic music can be difficult. With this in mind next weekend (Friday the 14th and Saturday the 15th of August) there’ll be an interesting line-up on offer at the Parc del Fòrum, when the first edition of the DGTL will be taking place. Originating in Holland and arriving in Barcelona with a very promising programme, that includes many of the biggest names on the electronic-music scene, in combined with unusual visuals and food offerings that make this event different from other similar festivals.

Right from the get-go there’ll be different art exhibitions, innovative lighting installations, futuristic sculptures and interactive performances, under the DGTL ART programme; as well as its very impressive environment credentials with its own cleaning crew called the Trash Army which ensures that the festival precinct is in good shape for the duration of the event. There’ll also be a food court with numerous culinary options that include Mediterranean cuisine as well as classic hot dogs, fries and burgers. But obviously most people coming here are interested in the music, the festival line-up is really impressive and compares favourably with other city festivals going on in Barcelona: Big international names include Maceo Plex, Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Henryk Schwarz, Dixon, Âme ... in addition to a selection of local talent headed by the increasingly well known John Talabot. 24 hours of great music in the Forum which has already proved itself as a venue in terms of comfort and accessibility.

For the complete line-up and online sales (affordably priced for a festival at this level) we recommend visiting the festival’s official website: http://dgtl.es/en/home/
