DGTL Barcelona 2019
Until recently, the market of the big electronic dance music festivals in Barcelona during the summer was only limited to the Sónar week, with the festival itself and the parallel events that took place simultaneously. As the summer is long and we are many quality techno and house lovers, we wondered why these events were not being distributed better throughout the season in order to diversify the market and be able to enjoy a festival at some other time than the third week of June. These wishes were fulfilled from 2012 when the franchise of the Dutch DGTL festival was installed in our city in the Forum park, which with its industrial and futuristic aesthetics, and its powerful line-up of relevant DJs of today, has been installed already definitely with the local and foreign public that enjoys this type of cultural and hedonistic events.
DGTL is back again in Barcelona this August, for August 23rd and 24th, with a bonus track on Sunday 25th called “Closing party”. As always, the festival cares about the environmental impact of the event, taking sustainability to the maximum and promoting the recycling of disposable products. There will also be, as always, the usual light and sound installations that decorate each edition. Regarding the artistic program, each day is divided into four scenarios that run from 3pm to 3am, and that are Modular, Generator, Frequency and Amp, always with large international stars and a generous percentage of local artists.

Within the line up of Friday 23rd, we highlight the first back to back to back six hands of the history of the festival, by the now legendary Dubfire, Tiga and Seth Troxler who like three wizards chefs they will cook their cauldron of techno and others ingredients from 9pm to 1am at the AMP stage. The expectation before this unrepeatable meeting is maximum. For lovers of melodic techno, from midnight there will be the Italians-Berliners of Tale of Us at the Modular stage, and closing the Frequency stage, there will be the living legend of DJ Harvey, mythical crate digger of the Ibizan night and exquisite connoisseur of forgotten tracks worthy of rescue. And don't forget big names like master Jeff Mills, the always effective Teuton Marcel Dettmann, or the pyrotechnic sounds of the Pan-Pot!

For Saturday 24th there is also a menu of rising artists and stars very enjoyable. We really want to see the live of Larry Heard, pioneer of the Chicago House also known as Mr. Fingers, who has been making music and developing its exquisite sound since the 80s, always with a very high quality level and every so often throwing some immortal hymn like “Can you feel it”, or “The sun can't compare”, a real big name that will be on the Modular stage starting at 8.30pm. Another 80s pioneer of House that will be in the Frequency from 1am is Lil Louis, who holds the title of "Founding Father of the House", and has lately enjoyed a deserved recognition as a pioneer and at the same time innovative of that genre that catapulted him to fame with the ubiquitous track "French Kiss". As if all this were not enough, there will also be maters such as Henryk Schwartz, Mano Le Tough, or the very popular Marco Carola, possessor of a bulky legion of faithful and fans.

As "there are not two without three" (a Spanish said), on Sunday 25th there will be a “Closing Party” at the Parc Del Forum led by the hit maker Todd Terje, and new values such as Acid Pauli and Bedouin. Irresistible cocktail to close a weekend dedicated to the best of underground dance music.
