Casa Bonay for Proactiva Open Arms
Art, fashion and design charity auction
In the Barcelona hotel Casa Bonay will take place, on December 12th, during a cocktail in its Libertine lounge, and in an act hosted by the charismatic Dani Morla, an art, fashion and design auction whose benefits will be entirely devoted to the organization Proactive Open Arms.
To make it possible, Casa Bonay has counted on the disinterested involvement of different artists and designers such as Paloma Wool, Cortana, Sybilla, Miranda Makaroff, Marlota, Après Ski, M2malletier, Jordi Labanda, Álex Franco and Guillermo Santomà, among others. The public can bid for some thirty pieces (including dresses, paintings, jewelry, photographs...), although the catalog is expected to be extended in the coming days.
Jordi Labanda, 'Illustration Salvatore Ferragamo dress', original artwork published in Vogue Japan. Gouache on paper. Starting price: € 280. Increase of each bid: € 20.
Sybilla, 100% wool coat. Starting price: € 700. Increase of each bid: € 50.
With this action they have proposed to contribute to solve the problem of refugees. Pepi de Boissieu, who is part of the Casa Bonay team, has been commissioned to start up this project, whose intention is to offer a kind of pleasant auction, for which it has had more than 25 consolidated and emerging designers from Barcelona, Madrid and Paris. All of them have turned their passion into their trade and, now, into a source of generosity accompanying Casa Bonay in this initiative.
The refugee crisis is currently one of the biggest global conflicts, having caused thousands of deaths in the Mediterranean. Casa Bonay will use all the benefits collected over the night to Proactiva Open Arms, an entity born with the purpose of not leaving one more life adrift.
Proactiva Open Arms is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue at sea of those fleeing from war, persecution or poverty. Their volunteers operate mostly from the island of Lesbos, in the Aegean Sea, and aboard a boat in the Mediterranean. The NGO was founded in 2015 by Óscar Camps and has already received more than twenty recognitions, such as the UNICEF Spanish Committee Award in the Transforma category or the HERO Award, awarded by the International Maritime Rescue Federation.
