Calibro 35

Funk U

30.01.14

Calibro 35 is an Italian band that pays homage to the instrumental funk from the soundtracks of iconic 60s and 70s detective films. It was formed in 2007 when producer Tommaso Colliva invited the best musicians on the alternative / indie scene to record some soundtracks from the golden age of great masters such as Morricone, Bacalov, Micalizzi and Trovajoli, in an attempt to revive the funky side of Italian cinema, so admired by directors like Quentin Tarantino and Steven Soderberg, among others. The band members are; Massimo Martellotta guitar and lapsteel, Enrico Gabrielli keyboards and winds, Fabio Rondanini on drums and Luca Cavina on base. They were (and still are) the most sought after session musicians in Italy and have collaborated with such artists as Mike Patton, Damo Suzuki (CAN), Stewart Copeland and John Parish among others.
