Bumble
A dating App that empowers women
Bumble is a dating platform designed for women to take the first step. With 24 million users worldwide it now arrives in Spain offering Bumble Honey services, a place to find a romantic partner, which according to the statistics they provide, to date has led to more than 15,000 engagements and weddings; Bumble BFF, for making friends and meeting people who are in similar circumstances in life, like first time mums, or anyone moving to a new city who wants to meet people who share the same interests. And Bumble Bizz (available in Spain from 2018) to establish and expand business networks and professional contacts, designed to help with job opportunities.
Whitney Wolfe, the co-founder of Tinder (now no longer involved) and who is only 28, created Bumble in December 2014, with a view to shaking up the traditional rules of dating and reinventing the etiquette of first dates. The app gives women the initiative, Bumble has been described as a "feminist" application, and its creator confirms this aim, “If we look at the current way of getting involved with online dating, the unwritten rule puts the woman below the man, with the pressure on the man to start the conversation, and the woman having to be more passive. If we can take some pressure off man and empower women, I think we are going in the right direction, in terms of being truly faithful to the principles of feminism.”

Bumble has made it perfectly acceptable for the woman to take the first step if she wants to. This is important: with women driving the chat it makes Bumble the application with the largest number of conversations initiated after the first match (out of more than two billion connections, 68% of conversations). In addition, there is zero tolerance for inappropriate or abusive comments from users, giving special importance to complaints which has made it the application with the lowest abuse rates.

Bumble is free, but offers premium services: Bumble Boost and Bumble Coins. Boost unlocks features like seeing everyone you’ve liked, recovering lost connections or extending them. Coins allows you to send SuperSwipes to stand out from others.
