Bicep
From bloggers to stars
Faced with so much blogger, youtuber, influencer, or pseudo "interesting" character that populate social networks and more traditional media, every now and then someone with real grace and talent emerges. This is the case of the Northern Irish BICEP, who have been publishing their own and other people's issues on their blog and record label, both called "Feel my bicep".
They are Andy Ferguson and Matt McBriar, who first they saw their fame grow first in circles of fans of international electronics rarities (one of the strengths of his blog was "resurrect" powerful tracks but unjustly forgotten in time), and then they started to play all over the world, and they were crowned as stars last year, with the release of their debut album precisely entitled "Bicep", by the once very influential Ninja Tune label, home to people like Coldcut, Amon Tobin or Funky Porcini.
Let's talk a little more about the album: it's not conceptual, but it's a kind of trip back in time to the 90s (but recorded with today's technology), where we return to a paradisiacal area of pure enjoyment and hedonism that was the British underground rave scene of those years, so we enter that world of breaks and melodic techno, with constant references to the past and with enough power to maintain the interest of the listener throughout its duration, achieving one of the most interesting and successful dance music record of 2017. We recommend watching their videos to get this feeling of temporary travel, and we share the single "Glue" with our readers to enjoy it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7ZxRs45tTg
