The programme includes forty exhibitions of photographic art (ten more than the previous edition), a group of photography schools, the screening of the documentary Magnum Cinema, workshops organised in collaboration with Elisava, the Institut d'Estudis Fotogràfics de Catalunya and Grisart, and free lectures by the artist Ouka Leele and the National Prize for Culture 2017 Maria Espeus, who will discuss their respective trajectories and the women working in this area; the critic Joana Hurtado, who will explore the relationship between photography and cinema to show how on influences the other, through the work of Chris Marker, Sophie Calle, Cindy Sherman, Jean-Luc Godard, Andy Warhol and Jeff Wall, Biel Capllonch as well as Sergio Caballero, official photographer and co-director of Sónar, who will review the festival's image throughout its almost 25-year history; in addition to Sigma Ambassadors Javier Corso and Guillem Trius, who will debate documentary photography and how to make a career in that world.
