Osvaldo Lamborghini

Proletarian Chamber Theatre

By Alexandra Laudó 19.05.15

This exhibition shows for the first time the collection of visual artwork produced by the Argentinean writer Osvaldo Lamborghini between 1981 and 1985 while he was living in Barcelona. Teatro Proletario de Cámara takes the title of one of the exhibited works, a colossal and beautiful book-object made up of numerous drawings and texts filled with sex and annotated scrawls. Other materials included within the exhibition are Lamborghini’s notebooks, with personal notes and diary entries, porno themed photo collages and biting socio-political commentary, much of which has to do with the Barcelona context. The exhibition also includes a set of accounts books kept by Lamborghini as well as a small selection of titles from his personal library that give visitors an idea about the theoretical, artistic and cinematographic references behind this multifaceted author. An exquisite project of extended literature that attests to this writer’s heterodox creativity.
